With the tour to Sri Lanka just around the corner which includes three T20 Internationals and ODIs, the two-time World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir is set to start his tenure as the head coach of the Indian team. Taking the reins from Rahul Dravid after the grand victory at the T20 World Cup 2024, this gossip about the new team written in many columns took Gambhir to the extremes. The BCCI is all set to make an official announcement.
BCCI to Announce Coaching Staff
Chief selector of India, Ajit Agarkar, and recently appointed head coach, Gautam Gambhir, will address the press conference. This marks Gambhir’s first media interaction after his official appointment as head coach. The event will take place at the Grand Salon, Grand Hyatt, BKC, Mumbai, on Monday, July 22. It is widely expected that the BCCI will reveal the full coaching staff during this interaction.
New Coaching Staff

According to reports, Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate are set to join the Indian team as assistant coaches. T Dilip is expected to retain his position as the fielding coach. Meanwhile, South African great Morne Morkel is likely to take over as the bowling coach. However, Morkel will not join the team for the Sri Lanka tour. Instead, Sairaj Bahutule, a member of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will act as the interim bowling coach for the series.
