The record for the fastest double century in Test cricket belongs to former New Zealand batsman Nathan Astle. He achieved the feat in just 153 balls against England in Christchurch in 2002. Astle’s explosive innings saw him accumulate 222 runs from 168 balls, featuring 28 fours and 11 sixes. Despite his heroic effort, New Zealand fell short of their massive target of 550 runs, eventually being bowled out for 451, resulting in a 98-run defeat.
