The festival of Raksha Bandhan has been celebrated with full verve in India today. Even the cricketing fraternity was seen celebrating the festival with siblings. Amid all the celebratory photos, an old photo of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh surfaced online to create confusion among his fans with respect to his siblings.

In the photo, India captain Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh is seen tying a rakhi to Yuvraj. As a result, fans have started to form the opinion that Singh and Sajdeh are siblings.

While Singh and Sajdeh have known each other even before the latter’s marriage to Sharma, the two are not siblings. Having said that, Singh treats her as a sister. Readers must note that according to some media reports, it was Singh who had introduced Sharma and Sajdeh for the first time.

Ritika and Yuvraj knew each other even before her marriage to Rohit. She used to run a sports management company and Yuvraj was her client. After working for a long time, slowly a bond started growing between them and Yuvraj started calling her his “Rakhi” sister.

In an old episode of Breakfast with Champions on YouTube, Rohit revealed an incident where Yuvraj threatened the Indian captain to stay away from Ritika because she is his sister. Rohit met Ritika during a shoot in 2008 and Yuvraj was also present. Rohit was baffled by Yuvraj’s request and told him that he had come to the shoot only for work purposes and had nothing to do with the girl. Rohit Sharma said in a YouTube conversation with Gaurav Kapoor:

When I was doing a shoot, Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan were also there with me. As soon as I reached, I went to meet Yuvi as he was a senior player and Ritika was also there. Ritika was managing the shoot. When I said hi to Yuvi Paaji, he gestured toward Ritika and said she is my sister, and don’t even look at her.

During the Rakhi (an Indian festival) celebration, pictures of Ritika tying the Rakhi on Yuvraj’s wrists went viral and fans started thinking she was the 41-year-old’s real sister. But no, Ritika Sajdeh is not the biological sister of Yuvraj Singh. He calls her his youngest sister only due to respect.

Though Rohit obeyed Yuvraj and did not meet Ritika at first, due to some technical glitches they got the chance to talk on the same day. Rohit did not like Ritika because of Yuvraj.

After becoming friends, Ritika started working as a manager for Rohit and soon they started dating each other.
