Kuldeep made his international Test debut for India against Australia in Dharamsala on 25 March 2017. He stamped his authority very early with four wickets taken during the first innings of the game and played excellent cricket for India till series-clinched victory. His maiden ODI game came on June 23rd, 2017, again against West Indies, while first T20 international cap came for him on 9th of July, once again to that team.

He wrote his name in history by taking his hat-trick against Australia at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 21 September 2017. He became the second Indian bowler to achieve this after Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev. He then continued and took his first five wickets in T20Is while playing against England on 3 July 2018. He is the left-arm wrist spinner who has achieved this feat first in T20I cricket.

IPL Career
Kuldeep was retained by Mumbai Indians in 2012 but went unused. By 2014, he was bought by KKR and got to play much cricket with the experience of seasoned spinner Brad Hogg. Kuldeep had a good season in 2018 and even got a four-over spell against Rajasthan Royals. The Delhi Capitals signed him in 2022 and remains one of the biggest assets still remaining in the league.
