Singles or Doubles

You would be surprised to learn that badminton can be played in both singles and doubles. In a singles rally match, two players compete against each other, while in a doubles rally match, you can team up with a friend similar to a deck of cards.

Toss

Indeed, similar to cricket, in badminton as well, a toss is held to ensure fairness and establish an ethical atmosphere for the game. A coin flip is conducted to determine a decision for the team batting first. You could be participating in professional events such as tournaments and the Olympics, or engaging in casual games with your family. A coin toss is essential to ensure the game proceeds smoothly without interruptions. The first serve is also given to the team that triumphed in the last match.

Winning Rules

If you manage to make the birdie land on the opponent’s area or the boundaries, well done! The claim is yours. You can win as well when your rival hits the birdie on the net if it goes beyond the boundary. Even if the player hits the birdie two times, you still have a chance to win there.

Picking Side

In badminton, you cannot randomly select any side according to your preference, and this is one of the fundamental rules. When your server accumulates even points at the start of the game.

White Line Out

This is the most crucial aspect of the game. You need to observe your feet and hands, as they must not come into contact with the white line; even your rackets should avoid touching the white line. Hence, engage in it and exercise caution while playing badminton.

Knock-Out

Always be mindful of your behavior while participating in the game. Your behavior significantly impacts your availability in the game. If you overlook the rules, you might risk being eliminated from the game.
