India Begins Preparations for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup
With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup just three weeks away, Team India has kicked off its preparations for the marquee event in South Africa.

Currently, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side is in South Africa, participating in a T20I Tri-Series featuring hosts South Africa and the West Indies.

India had a wonderful 44-run victory over South Africa in its first match of the series on Thursday. However, they had to do without some of the key players such as Harmanpreet Kaur, Renuka Singh, Shikha Pandey, Shafali Verma, and Richa Ghosh. While Shafali and Ghosh are presently in the colors of the Indian U-19 team for the Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup, the other three were reportedly down with some allergy-related illness.

Players Under the Weather

Amanjot Kaur, who made an impressive debut and was named ‘Player of the Match’ for her unbeaten 41 off 30 balls, shed light on the situation. She stated that the team’s lodgings are very close to woods and beaches, which indeed make some of the players ill due to allergic reactions, thus causing fever, cough, and weakness.

India will face West Indies next on Monday, and it is still unclear whether the affected players will be able to turn up with full match fitness.

Is Harmanpreet Kaur married?
Well, Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain, is not married and has no known public relations as of now at the age of 33.

Born in March 1989 in Moga, Punjab, Harmanpreet is the daughter of Harmandar Singh Bhullar and Satwinder Kaur. Along with her parents, she has three siblings—two brothers and one sister.

When it comes to her marriage, there has never been any pressure from the family to settle down, allowing her to entirely focus on cricket performances. A few years ago, her father said in an interview: “Cricket comes first. Since childhood, we wanted her to become a batsman. We cannot deny her the opportunity to pursue her career and bring laurels to India.”.
