Ishita Kishore, a renowned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, achieved the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022. She achieved this feat by virtue of her firm commitment, grit, and adaptability.

Early Life and Education
Ishita was born in the year 1996. She hails from a military family. Her late father, Wing Commander Sanjay Kishore, was from the Indian Air Force, and her mother, Jyoti Kishore, retired school teacher. Ishita finished her school education in 2014, Commerce stream with maths as the specialization subject, and scored a very high percentage of 97.25%. She further studied at the very prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University, with an Economics graduation.
Professional Career
Prior to joining the civil services, Ishita had picked up rich experience in the corporate world. She worked as a Risk Analyst for Ernst & Young, an experience that honed her problem-solving and analytical abilities.
But with the passion to serve the nation, she forsaken her corporate world to serve the public governance in whole heartedness.
UPSC Journey

Ishita’s journey to success in the UPSC exam was one of determination. She flunked twice, not being able to clear the preliminary examination. She was not deterred by this and kept studying with determination. Her third attempt was one where she not only cleared the exam but topped it scoring a total of 1094 marks.
Her self-chosen subject of the exam was Political Science and International Relations.
Extracurricular Achievements
Apart from studies, Ishita was also a sports enthusiast, particularly football. She was a national-level footballer, which reflects positively on her team spirit and leadership qualities.  Her sporting background has also made her a well-rounded individual with a mix of physical endurance and mental capabilities.
Personal Attributes
Ishita stands at 5 feet 7 inches and has a well-disciplined life and fitness commitment. Being brought up in a family that practices duty and service has inspired her to be a committed and honest person. She has also emulated her mother who is a teacher and has her commitment to learning and self-development on a daily basis.
