Laghima Tiwari is an Indian civil servant who scored All India Rank (AIR) 19 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022 on her first try. Her outstanding accomplishment as a BTech graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU) may be attributed to self-study, discipline and persistence.

Early Life and Education
Laghima was born in Alwar, Rajasthan, and graduated from the New Green Field School in Saket, New Delhi. She is a technology enthusiast who earned a BTech in Electronics and Communication from DTU. However, she later decided to pursue a career in civil services, selecting Anthropology as an optional subject that corresponded to her scholastic background in biology from grades 9 through 12.

Family Background
Laghima is from a middle-class family. Her father, Satish Chand, is a government schoolteacher, while her mother, Kanta Sharma, is a homemaker and she is the first in her family to join the civil service, fulfilling her late grandfather’s long-held ambition.

UPSC Preparation Strategy
Laghima began her UPSC adventure in 2021 learning through self-study standard texts and sample examinations rather than coaching. She encouraged constancy over extensive study sessions and a controlled timetable.
