Adam Joseph Copeland is a highly famous professional wrestler and actor known as Edge in the ring, a Canadian multinational. He is born on October 30, 1973, in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. The proud standing height of the celebrated figure is 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighing around 240 pounds. Deservedly so, Edge is recorded in the books of professional wrestling history, as one of the most championed wrestlers, holding the WWE title 11 times and inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.
Early Life
Edge was brought up by Judy Lynn Copeland, his single mother, while the father figure was absent throughout his life, having not even seen a picture of him. His mother worked two jobs to keep them afloat and Edge had an early fascination with wrestling, mainly shaped by idols such as Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat, Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart. He attended WrestleMania VI at the age of 16 in Toronto’s SkyDome, and that sealed his dream to be in the ring someday. At 17, he won an essay contest whose prize was free wrestling training with Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchison in Toronto.
Professional Wrestling Career
1992 would be seen as the start of Edge’s wrestling career as he began wrestling across different independent circuits before entering January 1996 as an occasional untelevised match with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The first time he appeared officially on television was in 1998 when he faced Jose Estrada Jr. in a RAW episode famous for achieving victory by count-out.
At first, Edge was part of a triumvirate whose other members were Gangrel and Christian, under the name “The Brood.” The faction was later added to The Undertaker’s “Ministry of Darkness.” Edge and Christian would later separate from each other to form a majorly successful tag team, winning numerous Tag Team Championships. The highlight of Edge’s singles career came when he was crowned the King of the Ring in 2001. The following year, he got paired with Hulk Hogan to win the WWE Tag Team Championship before teaming up with Rey Mysterio, bagging it again.
In 2004, Edge turned heel on WWE RAW and that would create a bigger scope for his career. He won the first-ever Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, and he cashed it in at New Year’s Revolution in 2006 against John Cena, which marked the first time he won the WWE Championship.
Injuries and Retirement
Edge has undergone many injuries in the course of his wrestlers’ life; such a serious neck injury was severe to the point of requiring cervical vertebral fusion. Due to medical complications in 2011, he had to leave professional wrestling but made a comeback in the Royal Rumble of 2020, where he would be competing for several years later on.
Personal Life
He had three marriages altogether, the first one being to Alannah Morley from 2001 to 2004, then quickly married Lisa Ortiz in 2004, and finally in 2005. In 2016, with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, he married him and shares two daughters, Lyric and Ruby as well.
Net Worth and Earnings
Edge actually has net worth of about $14 million as of the year 2024, with reports of an annual income of about $1 million.
Other Ventures
Other than wrestling, Edge has moved into acting on screen, having worked in films such as Highlander: Endgame (2000), Bending the Rules (2012), and Money Plane (2020). He even had guest appearances in the television shows Weakest Link, Mind of Mencia, Deal or No Deal, MADtv, and The Flash.

Edge keeps an active social media presence on Twitter and Instagram, where he interacts with fans and updates them on his professional and personal life.
