In movies like Sarfarosh, Satya, Swades, Makdee, and Jungle he is renowned for portraying strange and frequently dramatic characters. His haunting yet powerful performances in the Kannada Dandupalya series helped him gain prominence.

Deshpande’s global debut, Monkey Man, directed by Dev Patel was released in 2024 and this English language action thriller broadened his appeal to international audiences by demonstrating his flexibility beyond regional and Bollywood films.
