Kailasanathan is a series that saw the dubbing into Malayalam of a mythological TV series that won over audiences with its in-depth spiritual themes, grand visual style, and immersive storytelling. The show, which is based on the life of Lord Shiva, the main deity in Hinduism, showcases the divine doings of Shiva.

We see in this series the many aspects of Shiva’s life, from that of the ascetic yogi to that of the cosmic destroyer, husband and father, as we also see in iconic episodes from Hindu scriptures.

The serial saw great success in Kerala and among audiences who speak Malayalam. It did so for its accurate presentation of mythological stories as well as the put together cast which did excellent jobs. Main Cast

Mohit Raina as Lord Shiva: Mohit did an excellent job as Shiva, which he played in many divine roles including Adiyogi, Neelkanth, and Mahakaal. Also, it was his calm delivery and great acting that added depth to his performance.

Mouni Roy as Sati: Mouni played the role of Sati, who is at the centre of great cosmic change through her love and sacrifice, which led to large-scale transformations in the series.

Sonarika Bhadoria as Parvati: As in the role of Sati’s reincarnation, which Sonarika played out for Parvati. Her on-screen chemistry with Mohit Raina added that extra layer of emotion to the story.

Saurabh Raj Jain as Lord Vishnu: The Divine Preserver did so with grace and peace, which in turn showed us how Vishnu would step in to restore the cosmic order.

Radha Krishna Dutt (Lord Brahma): As Brahma, he was a wise counsellor in the heavenly structure.

These characters, who are Parvati’s parents, brought in layers to the story through their display of what humans feel, which is love, doubt, and worry.

Kumar Hegde as Nandi: As devotee to Lord Shiva and companion to him at all times, Nandi is presented with a touch of simple endearment.

Deepika Upadhyay (Ganga ): Her character portrayed the fall of the sacred river to earth, which was a symbol of purity and divine grace.

Ragini Dubey as Goddess Lakshmi: She introduced the goddess of wealth into the story, which also in turn balanced out the celestial elements.

Crew

The creative team, of which the series’ directors were a part, included Nikhil Sinha, Manish Singh, Ismail Umarr Khan, Govind Agrawal, and Satish Bhargav. In terms of the screenplay and dialogues, which were of a high quality, we had Utkarsh Naithani and Mihir Bhuta who did an excellent job at putting out the old legends in a way that would appeal to today’s audience.
