Introduction
Manjurukum Kaalam is a much-loved Malayalam serial on Mazhavil Manorama. From a famous novel of Joycee, the story was adapted and directed by Binu Vellathooval; production was under the banner of Sree Movies. With the protagonist Janikutty at the center, all-round emotionality coupled with an impactful storyline deeply engaged the audience emotionally throughout the series.

Overview of the Story
The story portrays the life of Janikutty, a young orphan adopted by Vijayaraghavan and his wife Ratnamma. At first cherished, her life goes downhill after Ratnamma delivers a child, who is now her own; Janikutty begins to be neglected and abused. However, in spite of all this hardship, Janikutty, with her indomitable strength and spirit, goes on to become a brave woman and serves the country as a Minister and a Civil Rights Activist. Her story sings the tunes of resilience and victory in the face of adversity.

Lead Cast

Monisha Arshak as Janikutty (grown-up): She was the grown-up Janikutty and the one who was to go through the metamorphosis from a feeble girl into a strong-willed woman.

Anish Rehman as Abhijith: Jnankutty’s lover, Anish gave such weightage to the story with his acting.

Kezia, Niranjana, and Greeshma: The three actresses represented Janikutty at various stages of childhood, representing her early life struggles and innocence.

Lavanya Nair & Manju Satheesh as Ratnamma: Both actresses performed powerful interpretations of Janikutty’s foster mother in different stages of the story.
