Gaurav Bhatia – Senior Advocate & Political Spokesperson
Gaurav Bhatia is among the eminent names in the legal and political saga of India. He is designated as Senior Advocate by the Supreme Court of India and is also the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Born on 16 February 1977, Bhatia has had a distinguished career in both law and politics.

Previously, he served as the Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) from 2015 to 2017. Before being elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate, he practiced as an Advocate-on-Record in the Supreme Court. Earlier in his career, Bhatia was actively involved with the Samajwadi Party (SP), where he acted as the National Spokesperson and led the party’s Legal Wing as its National President.

Personal Life
Gaurav Bhatia hails from a family with a strong legal and political background. He is the son of Late Virendra Bhatia, a former Rajya Sabha MP and Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh. Gaurav completed his schooling at La Martinière College, Lucknow. He later pursued undergraduate studies at the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, and earned his law degree from Lucknow University.

Political Career

Bhatia began his political career as an office bearer with the Samajwadi Party. During that time he was known for his legal acumen. On 5 February 2017, he resigned from the party, expressing his dissatisfaction with the party’s stand vis-à-vis the legal fraternity in Uttar Pradesh. While exiting, he refrained from criticizing SP leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav personally. Subsequently, on 2 April 2017, Gaurav Bhatia joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, taking on the role of National Spokesperson.

Education
His academic background includes early education at La Martinière College, Lucknow, followed by higher studies in the United States at the University of Bridgeport, and legal education at Lucknow University. Between the years of 2015 and 2017, his leadership responsibility as Honorary Secretary of SCBA marked an important phase in his professional career in law.
