Sajan grew up in financial hardship following his father’s death during his teenage years. By age 16, he was working odd jobs—selling books, milk, and firecrackers—to support his family.  He moved to Kuwait in 1981 to work in his uncle’s building-supplies business but returned during the Gulf War in 1990. 

Career and Business Ventures

In 1993, he founded Danube Group in Dubai, starting with trading building materials. The company swiftly expanded into home furnishings (Danube Home in 2008), aluminium composite panels (Alucopanel in 2012), and real estate development (2014)  . Known for its landmark “1 % payment plan,” Danube Properties has delivered numerous residential projects across the UAE, including the upcoming Bayz 102 and Diamondz towers. 

Achievements and Recognition

By 2019, Danube Group was generating over USD 1.3 billion in annual revenue and had become a leading building materials supplier in the UAE and GCC region.  Sajan was among the first non-Emiratis granted a 10‑year UAE Golden Visa in 2019 and is ranked among the top 100 Indian business leaders in the UAE.

As of 2025, his net worth is estimated at approximately USD 2.5 billion (₹20,800+ crore), based on his majority stake in Danube Group. 

Philanthropy

Sajan actively contributes to charitable causes. During Ramadan he provides over 100,000 meals daily, and he has donated around Dh5 million to food security initiatives. He also supports workforce training through Danube Welfare Society.
