Early Life and Background

Ayush Mhatre born in 1, which is the 16th day of July in the year 2005, is a native of Virar in Mumbai. From a young age it is apparent that he has been very talented in the game of cricket and has come to be known as one of India’s best young players. Born into a middle class but very supportive family, Ayish’s affinity for cricket was very early to show. Also very much a part of his up bringing was his father, Yogesh Mhatre, who played a key role in the development of his son’s talent, which included many a time travelling for long train rides from Virar to Churchgate for practice at the Wankhede Stadium. Also very much by his side through it all has been his mother Jagruti Mhatre, who has been a rock of emotional support.

Physical Appearance and Playing Style

Ayush is a 5’9” frame, which is that of a lean and athletic build, perfect for the present-day game of cricket. As a right-handed opening batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler, he puts together classic technique with modern aggression. Also very efficient in the field with sharp reflexes and quick movements, which makes him a full package.

Domestic Career

Ayush broke into the domestic cricket scene in a big way right from the start. At 17, he debuted in first-class cricket, which he did with a very impressive 176 in one of his early matches that put him on the map. His early performances in the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup caught the attention of the selectors and also fans. In a span of nine first-class games, he scored over 500 runs, which included two centuries, and he had a batting average that went over 30.

In the List A format, Ayush put up a brilliant 181-run performance, which was the highest by an Indian under the age of 18 in domestic one-day cricket. Also, he is a very valuable asset in the limited over format because of his ability to build solid innings and also chip in with some runs when required.

IPL Debut and Success

In the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ayush got a big opportunity when, in mid-season, the Chennai Super Kings signed him as a replacement player. At his debut, he broke the record for the youngest player to represent the franchise. In the second match out of the park, he scored a brilliant 94 off 48 balls, which earned him plaudits from cricket greats and fans. His bold play, which saw him go after the best bowlers in the world at such a young age, has made him a star of the future.

Through the success he has achieved, Ayush still lives a very disciplined and ground-oriented life. In Virar, he is at home with his family and is also very much into a strict training regime. Ayush attributes his success to hard work, consistency and what his family has sacrificed. He stays away from distraction and is very much focused on his long term cricket goals.

As of 2025 Ayush will have a net worth between 1 – 2 crore, which will mostly come from domestic match fees, IPL contracts and brand endorsements. Also, with his rise in popularity which is still to come we can expect that number to grow very soon.
