Every cricket fan can recall the first time they saw a truly graceful left-handed batsman timing the ball through the off side. I remember when Devdutt Padikkal joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for the start of the season. He came in and played with such ease and grace, which was very much the feel of that old style of cricket. Born in Edappal on July 7, 2000, Devdutt Padikkal is 26 years old. As for his heritage which is from the beautiful coastal state of Kerala, his cricket story really took off in Bangalore which is where his family moved to when he was a young child. My family and I still very much remember his brilliant first season centuries (101* against RR) in 2021. It was a perfect display of graceful stroke play. He later joined the Rajasthan Royals and has been putting on fine performances across formats. Also to note is that he became the first 2000s-born player to make his international debut, which he did in a T20I against Sri Lanka.
