Sanju Samson was born into a Christian family on November 11, 1994, in Vizhinjam, located in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The wicketkeeper-batter plays for Team India on the international stage, Kerala in domestic competitions, and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Sanju received his first call-up for India against England in 2014, but did not make it into the final 11. In July 2015, he debuted in T20I matches against Zimbabwe.
However, he was unable to take advantage of his opportunities and was removed from the team. After four years, he returned to the Indian squad against Bangladesh in 2019, but did not make it into the starting eleven. From that point, he put in significant effort and played his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in July 2021. Furthermore, Sanju was chosen as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals before the 2021 IPL. With his guidance, Rajasthan reached the finals of the 2022 IPL but was unable to overcome the last obstacle. In the 2024 IPL, he continues to serve as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals. Recently, in December 2023, he achieved a century against South Africa and was named the man of the match for his explosive knock of 108 runs.
