Much of that economic growth goes with India’s global influence from the entrepreneurial success behind it. It is impressive because it indicates that as India gets closer to being the world’s third largest economy by 2030, the number of billionaires-in this case much more billionaires-impressive number of billionaires-is growing in this country.

In an incredibly proud achievement, the list of billionaires now bears the names of 271 billionaires newly added, including 84 new entries. This fact has placed India on the third spot globally on the billionaire list.

From the Henley & Partners report of 2024, both cities, Mumbai and Delhi, figured among the top 50 richest cities in the world: Mumbai was 24th, while Delhi stood at 37th. Deeming wealth ever concentrated in the land, this added great significance.

In its zeal, Mumbai – overtaking Beijing – became Asia’s “Billionaire Capital,” a recognition given from Hurun as the 3rd richest city in the world and as the fastest growing billionaires’ hub.

The Top-100 richest individuals of India had a combined fortune that was more than US$300 billion, far higher than the cumulation total of $1.1 trillion in 2024 brought by a booming stock market.

Now stepping into 2025, Forbes came out with its list of the richest Indians, comprising the meteoric growth of the empires they built in varied fields and enormous wealth built.

Leaders of Wealth Rankings: Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, continues to topping the list of richest Indians globally, 18th rank.
