Introduction
Kudumbavilakku is a hit among the audience of Malayalam television which also is a result of its in-depth narrative and emotional appeal. Meera Vasudevan as Sumithra Menon

Sumithra is a dedicated housewife which she redefines post a very painful divorce. Meera’s performance has been very well received for it’s emotional depth and authenticity.
Krishna Kumar as Siddharth Menon

In the case of Sumithra’s ex-husband which is Siddharth, we see actor Krishna Kumar in the lead. Known for his work in Malayalam TV and films, Krishna brings out the characters of an ambitious and self-interested man in the character of Siddharth which in turn adds a different dimension to the serial. Also in a very important role that plays out the growth of the character, we see the transition of Sumithra from a very put-upon wife to an independent woman.
Saranya Anand as Vedhika
Vedhika, second wife to Siddharth, is brought out by Saranya Anand. In a career known for playing the bad girls Saranya brings to the role a very strong screen presence and intensity. Vedhika with her complex and modern personality as against to Sumithra’s simple self creates tension and drama in the story.
Anu Joseph as Savithri

Anu Joseph in the role of Savithri which is that of a key support character that at the same time is very much a contrast to Sumithra. Also a very talented actress which is known for her comic timing and which also has a large range in terms of the types of roles she takes on Anu adds a great deal of emotion to the story.
Ameya Nair Mersheena Neenu who plays Sheetal.
Sheetal is the daughter of Sumithra and Siddharth. In the beginning, Ameya Nair played the role which was later taken over by Mersheena Neenu. The character is at the core of the parents’ emotional conflict which the actresses have brought to life with great sensitivity.
Noobin Johny as Pratheesh Menon
Pratheesh which is the son of Sumithra is brought to us by Noobin Johny. He is the next in line in the family tree and also is to see in the role of a mediator in family disputes. His character brings to the fore emotional growth and also gives a generational perspective to the serial.
Recurring Cast
Also featured are several returning actors including:
- Dr. Shaju Shaam played the role of Shivadas Menon, Sumithra’s second husband.
- In key supporting roles are Bindu Panicker, Manju Satheesh, and Kishore Sathya.
