Tiger was born Jai Hemant Shroff on 2 March 1990 in Mumbai. He is the son of Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff and producer-actress Ayesha Shroff (née Dutt)  . Raised along with his younger sister Krishna Shroff, he is of mixed descent: Gujarati-Turkmen on the father’s and Bengali-Belgian on the mother’s side . He studied at Besant Montessori and the American School of Bombay, and briefly at Amity University, Noida .
