Early Life and Background
Gukesh Dommaraju was born on 29 May 2006 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. From a very young age, we see that he was a bright talent in academics as well as in other fields. His father is an ENT specialist, and his mother is a microbiologist. It was very early on that Gukesh showed signs of great curiosity and also what it takes to be a great thinker. Also very natural to him was his interest in chess, which was also very well supported by his family.
